Our 2008 interns arrive today to start their year of service with us. Unfortunately 3 of them didn’t make their domestic connections and will only arrive tomorrow. Flexibility is the operative word as we rearrange schedules and change up the plans so that no one misses any of the training or teambuilding.

The week ahead will be very full as the interns familiarize themselves with the inner workings of Thrive. (They will even be tested at the end of the week on their knowledge of our vision, strategies, and departments, as well as who does what within the ministry!) Time will also be spent helping the interns bond as a team and with the staff. We’ve developed a new system to determine the best ministry job placements for the interns. There is so much work to be done, the entire staff team is excited to have some interns assisting in their departments this year.

We miss our interns from last year, and there’s almost this weird expectancy that they’re the ones who are going to show up here today.  But we know God has given us a wonderful new group of servant-hearted young people. Together as one team we will touch lives and accomplish what God has called us to for 2008.

We appreciate your prayers!
