Video: 2003 Fire

As we start our second decade of ministry, we’ve been reminiscing about all that God has done in the past ten years. Back in 2003—less than a year after we bought our property–a wildfire broke out and burned over 800 acres of our mission base. It was definitely a challenging time, filled with uncertainty and a lot of questions, but we pressed on. In spite of the setbacks, the vision God gave us to reach South Africa grew even stronger in our hearts.

   that was an amazing video. parts of it gave me chills (in a good way). editing-wise the video was very cool.

   what an amazing testimony of God’s strength and grace.

   on a side note - although the video was intense i loved seeing you and niel and hearing your voices!

   I’ll admit, this video left me speechless! I feel so blessed to be a part of what is happening here in South Africa. I feel like a piece that fits into Thrive’s puzzle…WOW.

   wow. i remember getting a dvd of this video back in 2004. its amazing at the end when it shows the old restaurant and conference room overlaid with the clips of the ashes and destruction. and even back then you were talking about how God was growing you to host more people and touch more lives. wow God.
