The Way Home
By on April 5, 2008
The interns are on their way home from Botswana. It’s a grueling 20-hour drive… but I think it’s worse to be a passenger for that long than to be a driver. Hopefully the interns are keeping themselves entertained without driving the staff nuts!
I got a wonderful email today from one of the staff members at Love Botswana Outreach Mission. Kevin worked closely with our crew, and managed their work projects while they were there. This is what he had to say:
The team is off and on their way back to you. They left early this morning at 6 am. They all worked very hard and the house looks amazing. Matt’s skills in tiling and drywall left us with a great looking new bathroom; everyone contributed in the sanding and painting department. All in all, it was great to have them here and we really appreciate all their hard work.
Way to make us proud, interns!
As a side note, when I spoke with Niel a little bit ago, he told me their early-morning departure didn’t work out so well. They stopped at the first gas station to fill up, and the gas attendant accidentally put unleaded into the diesel vehicle! Yikes. Three hours later, they were finally on their way again.
I’m looking forward to having everyone home very soon!

Way to go Matt and the gang.
I wonder if they chopped…and chopped and chopped with those hacker machete things.
Laura, Krista and I enjoyed that quite a bit.
